Scott McTominay is doing very well at Napoli, and some think Manchester United made a mistake letting him leave.

At Manchester United, McTominay was not needed anymore, but now he is playing well under coach Antonio Conte at Napoli. Recently, McTominay scored his first goal in Italy’s Serie A in a 3-1 win against Como. This shows that Erik ten Hag, Manchester United’s manager, and Sir Alex Ferguson, who used to manage the team, may have been right to want McTominay to stay at the club.

Many people, including Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, were surprised that McTominay was sold. Ten Hag said it was difficult for him to let McTominay go because the player was very important to the club for over 22 years, but the deal was good for all sides.

Now, McTominay is happy at Napoli, and his strong performances show how valuable he is. This success may cause Manchester United to regret their decision to let him leave.

Sir Alex Ferguson, who helped McTominay grow in the team, was proud of his progress. He might be disappointed that Manchester United decided to sell one of their own players.
