Match Report

Napoli won an exciting match against Juventus today. The final score was 2-1. This was an important game because both teams wanted to win very much.


First Half

The match started well for Napoli. After only seven minutes, Napoli scored the first goal. David Neres ran very fast on the right side of the field. He passed the ball to Rasmus Højlund. Højlund scored with his foot near the goal. It was 1-0 for Napoli!


Napoli played very well in the first half. Scott McTominay almost scored another goal for Napoli. He hit the ball with his head, but it hit the post. This means the ball hit the side of the goal and did not go in. At half-time, the score was still 1-0.

Second Half


In the second half, Juventus tried very hard to score. And they did! Manuel Locatelli passed the ball quickly to Weston McKennie. McKennie gave the ball to Kenan Yildiz. Yildiz scored a beautiful goal! Now the score was 1-1. The match was equal again.


But Napoli did not give up. Højlund scored his second goal of the match! This is called a "brace" when a player scores two goals in one match. Napoli were winning 2-1.


Juventus tried to score again before the end of the match, but they could not. Napoli's players defended very well. When the referee blew the final whistle, Napoli won 2-1.

This win was very important for Napoli. They are now at the top of the Serie A table. This means they are in first place in the league! They have more points than Inter Milan now.

For Juventus, this was a difficult result. They wanted to win to move up the table. Now they are eight points behind Napoli. It will be harder for them to win the league this season.
