Inter Milan won an important game against Atalanta in Serie A. They won 2-0 and are now three points ahead in the league. Carlos Augusto and Lautaro Martínez scored the goals. Both teams finished the match with 10 players because two players got red cards.


Inter now has 64 points. Napoli is in second place with 61 points after a 0-0 draw with Venezia. Atalanta stays in third place with 58 points.



First Half


Inter started the game strongly. Marcus Thuram almost scored but hit the goalpost. After that, Atalanta played better. Inter’s goalkeeper, Yann Sommer, made a great save from a Mario Pasalic header. Atalanta’s Éderson also had a chance but missed the goal.


Before halftime, Ademola Lookman tried to score for Atalanta, but his shot went wide. The first half ended 0-0.


Second Half


After halftime, the game stopped for a short time because a fan in the stadium needed medical help. When the match restarted, Inter quickly scored. Hakan Çalhanoğlu took a corner kick, and Carlos Augusto headed the ball into the goal. Atalanta’s goalkeeper, Marco Carnesecchi, could not stop it. Inter was ahead 1-0 in the 54th minute.


Atalanta tried to score, but things became harder for them. In the 81st minute, their midfielder, Éderson, got two yellow cards and was sent off. He argued with the referee and clapped sarcastically, so the referee gave him a red card.


Inter Secures the Win


Inter made sure of their win with another goal in the 87th minute. Nicolò Barella passed the ball to Lautaro Martínez, who scored from a difficult angle. It was now 2-0.


Atalanta’s coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, was also sent off. Inter had a chance for a third goal, but Davide Frattesi shot straight at the goalkeeper.


At the end of the game, Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni got a second yellow card and was sent off. However, Inter still won the match. This victory ended Atalanta’s seven-game unbeaten streak and helped Inter in their fight for the Serie A title.
