PSG Too Strong for Nantes

Paris Saint-Germain won comfortably at home tonight, beating FC Nantes 3–0 in a one-sided Ligue 1 match. PSG were the better team from the very first minute, and Nantes were never able to challenge them seriously.

PSG scored their first goal early, in the 13th minute, taking control of the game quickly. They then added a second in the 37th minute, just before half-time, to make the first half very difficult for Nantes. A third goal came just five minutes into the second half, in the 50th minute, which ended any hope of a Nantes comeback.

PSG dominated possession throughout the match, controlling the ball 70% of the time compared to only 30% for Nantes. They also had more shots, with 14 in total and 8 on target, while Nantes managed 9 shots and 5 on target. Despite having fewer chances, Nantes’ goalkeeper made 2 saves and was one of the busiest players on the Nantes side. PSG’s goalkeeper, Safonov, was called on to make 4 saves — a sign that Nantes did at least create some danger, even if it was not enough.

It was a disciplined but tough evening for both sides. PSG received two yellow cards and Nantes received one. Both teams made five substitutions each in the second half as the managers rotated their squads.

The result keeps PSG near the top of the Ligue 1 table, while Nantes continue to struggle away from home.
